Bjørnevasshytta
Vi dro fra Kragerø kl. 07.00 og stoppet for å handle mat i Dalen i Telemark kl. 09.15. Deretter kjørte vi videre til Bjørnevasshytta, hvor vi parkerte bilen. Kl. 11.00 tok vi taxi ned til Valle i Setesdalen, og kl. 11.45 gikk vi på bussen videre til Bjåen. Derfra startet vi fotturen mot Tjørnbrotbu kl. 13.00. Været var fint og solrikt. Vi gikk omtrent halvveis før vi slo opp teltet for natten. Det kom noe regn i løpet av natten og tidlig neste morgen.
Dag 2 fortsatte turen over Venevasseggi, 1435 moh – turens høyeste punkt. Utsikten var imponerende. Ved Tjørnbrotbu (1305 moh) tok vi en pause og spiste. Været vekslet mellom sol og overskyet. Hele etappen fra Bjåen til Tjørnbrotbu tok omtrent 8 timer inkludert pauser. Løypa var kupert med flott utsyn. Neste etappe gikk til Berdalsbu – flatt i starten, men mer kupert mot slutten. Nedstigningen til hytta (1000 moh) var bratt. Vi ankom kl. 22.00 etter ca. 6 timer. Det regnet noe, og vi overnattet inne på hytta.
Dag 3 startet med en solid stigning. Vi slo opp telt i Reinevassdalen – en vakker, grønn dal. Terrenget var kupert, og været var vekslende mellom sol og overskyet.
Dag 4 startet med regn og overskyet vær. Vi tok oss opp Reidalsfjellet (1300 moh), en bratt stigning. Nedstigningen til Bjørnevasshytta (800 moh) var drøy og litt kjedelig. Hytta var stengt, og vi kjørte hjem kl. 13.00.

We left Kragerø at 7:00 AM and stopped to buy food in Dalen, Telemark at 9:15 AM. Then we continued driving to Bjørnevasshytta, where we parked the car. At 11:00 AM, we took a taxi down to Valle in Setesdalen, and at 11:45 AM we caught the bus to Bjåen. From there, we started the hike toward Tjørnbrotbu at 1:00 PM. The weather was nice and sunny. We walked about halfway before setting up our tent for the night. It rained a bit during the night and early the next morning. Day 2 continued over Venevasseggi, 1435 meters above sea level – the highest point of the hike. The view was impressive. At Tjørnbrotbu (1305 m), we took a break and had something to eat. The weather alternated between sun and clouds. The entire leg from Bjåen to Tjørnbrotbu took about 8 hours, including breaks. The trail was hilly with wide, scenic views. The next stretch to Berdalsbu started off flat but became more rugged toward the end. The descent to the cabin (1000 m) was steep. We arrived at 10:00 PM after about 6 hours. There was some rain, and we spent the night inside the cabin. Day 3 began with a steady ascent. We pitched our tent in Reinevassdalen – a beautiful green valley. The terrain was hilly, and the weather varied between sun and clouds. Day 4 started with rain and overcast skies. We climbed Reidalsfjellet (1300 m), a steep ascent. The descent to Bjørnevasshytta (800 m) was long and somewhat tedious. The cabin was closed, and we drove home at 1:00 PM.
