Beinmålheia

Beinmålheia har en flott utsikt over Hull, men har ikke funnet noen bra plass å gå opp. Litt kronglete å komme seg opp. Fra Bjordam er det noen gamle veier opp mot Beinmålheia som kyrne gikk på til beiteområder. Ei ku kalvet på toppen av heia og kalven fikk navnet ”Heiros”. Vi gikk opp ved bruddet som ligger rett ved veien før Bjordam.




Beinmålheia boasts a stunning view of Hull, but finding a suitable ascent point can be a bit challenging. It's a bit of a winding journey to reach the top. From Bjordam, there are some old pathways leading up to Beinmålheia, which were once used by cows to access grazing areas. Interestingly, a cow gave birth to a calf at the summit of the hill, and the calf was named "Heiros." We chose to ascend from the quarry located right by the road before Bjordam.

205 Beinmålheia: Gabbro/Hyperitt was extracted here as construction material for the E-18 highway. The new E-18 north of Hull was initiated in 1959 and officially opened in 1972. From my childhood memories, I recall that we used to visit this place to search for garnets or "Bohemian Ruby," as it's also known. .
